What is Io ?
Io is a collection of tools that allow you to develop imaging applications with the greatest possible ease. To achieve this simplicity, the Io tools make use of the powerful new OLE Automation technology developed by Microsoft which allows one piece of application software (the ‘client’) to make use of another application’s (the ‘server’) capability as a component. This is the technology which, for example, will offer you direct program access to all the functions of an Excel spreadsheet from inside a Word document. Io allows you to do exactly the same thing for imaging operations, so that you have easy access to a powerful range of imaging functions from your application. That application has to be developed using tools that support the OLE Automation functionality, but these include most of the common Windows 95 development environments such as Visual Basic 4, Visual C++ and Delphi.
Features and Benefits
How do I use Io ?
Io is supplied as a set of OLE Automation Objects and OLE Custom Controls (OCX). These components can be dropped directly into your development environment. For example if you were developing an imaging application in Visual C++, you open the component library, and select the Io OCX for the particular imaging task you are tackling.
In Visual Basic the Io controls appear as additional OCX’s on the toolbar and you simply drop them on to your form or access them from your Visual Basic code. So no matter what tools you use for development, Io forms a natural extension to your existing development environment, and makes building imaging applications as quick and easy as it is possible to make them.
The Power of Io Io has an amazing array of imaging capabilities. It includes dozens of image processing functions for the widest possible range of filtering operation - including Fourier Transforms. It also includes a comprehensive toolkit of analysis functions so that you can perform every type of morphological operation on your image. And practically all these functions are available for up to 5 dimensional images - X,Y,Z,Time and Frequency Band. Applications
Io can be used to develop any image processing analysis system - very quickly. It can be used for demanding applications in:
