Image Capture Systems Overview

Capturing digital images of your samples is an essential requirement for most microscopists. However, obtaining high quality images with just the right colors at just the right resolution quickly and efficiently, requires the right kind of image capture system.

SYNCROSCOPY is world renowned in our ability to provide image capture systems that give you the finest quality digital images even of the most difficult samples including fluorescence and 3D subjects.

Whether you need the world’s highest resolution, the world’s finest color reproduction, high speed live images at full digital resolution, extended depth of focus or an entire sample mapped at high magnification – SYNCROSCOPY has the solution for you.

Essential Image Capture System

AcQuis image capture system for microscopyAcQuis is the perfect solution for an inexpensive image capture workstation, providing the essential functions, requested by microscopists, of image acquisition, camera control, processing, annotation, automatic scalebars and calibration. A special Multi Channel Acquisition function allows the individual display and capture of the Red, Green, and Blue channels. Ideal for multiple stained fluorescence samples.

Extended Focus Image Capture System

Auto-Montage extended focus image capture system for microscopy Auto-Montage solves all your depth of field problems. No more partially focused images. Auto-Montage is ideal for obtaining extended focus images from stereo microscopes and macroscopes of a host of subjects from insects to fossils. You can now extend the capabilities of your compound microscope to obtain fully focused images of any 3D structures such as fracture surfaces, mycology, electronic components and even fluorescing cells.

SYNCROSCOPY invented the Auto-Montage technique which works by capturing a series of ‘normal’ partially focused images as all the focus (Z) planes are scanned. The unique and highly developed algorithms then calculate a single stunning extended focus image.

Auto-Montage also calculates accurate height information which is used to provide a useful range of 3D images and data including Stereo Pairs, Stereo Anaglyphs, 3D Surface Models and extensive 3D Measurement parameters. Auto-Montage works with your existing microscope and comes with optional motorization of the focus.

Extended Field of View Image Capture System

Montage Explorer extended field of view image capture system for microscopyMontage Explorer extends the field of view of the microscope by allowing you to move around your sample at high magnification, stitching together the fields of view as you go. Unique and patented software algorithms use the data from the camera to automatically detect sample movement, and use image correlation to seamlessly stitch the live image feed from the digital camera, into a single large image.

The entire process can be completely automated in X, Y, and Z-axes, under computer control or performed manually. Montage Explorer also includes the Syncroscan module, which uses location information from a motorized stage to stitch together adjacent fields of view at high speed. The optional Syncroscan RT module can scan and stitch at up to a world record 25 frames per second.

Extended Dynamic Range Image Capture System

Quantage extended dynamic range image capture system for microscopyQuantage is an add-in software module for both Auto-Montage and AcQuis. Quantage eliminates image flaring from bright spots and, at the same time allows you into dark regions of the image. Quantage works by controlling the exposure times of the digital camera during image acquisition, combining the results with patented algorithms. The result is a greatly extended dynamic range of the camera, thus allowing detail from both bright and dark areas of the specimen to be captured. Typically, images of 16 bits per color can be generated.
