Summary

Quantage Extended Dynamic Range image capture is a breakthrough in the imaging of samples that are difficult to illuminate. If your sample is too bright for a camera to photograph or contains dark areas that cannot be adequately illuminated or, worse still where both conditions exist, then until now there was very little that could be done about it.

With Quantage, a series of images can be taken at different exposure times from a remotely controlled digital camera. The content of each image is then automatically assessed and those areas in each image that are neither under nor over exposed are combined into a Quantage image. The result is a color image with extended dynamic range that encompasses all the brightness ranges that exist in the image of your sample. This image can then be viewed, stored, analyzed or rescaled for printing.

Quantage is available as a software accessory to SYNCROSCOPY’s AcQuis image capture systems. Once installed, to use this facility, you simply select the option from within the image capture software and all subsequent captured images will have a huge dynamic range.
